About Oinktoberfest 2009

This year's event is at the Great
Pumpkin Farm 11163 Main St, Clarence, NY 14031. Please check
out our MAP page for directions.
Saturday's competition is Kansas City Barbeque Society
(KCBS) sanctioned. Teams will be judged and scored according to KCBS
guidelines and rules. Food categories include: chicken, pork ribs, pork
butt/shoulder, beef brisket. The scores of these four categories
determines the Grand Champion. Additional categories are any side dish

Sunday's events include both the Outdoor Cooking Contest and the Chili
Cookoff. The Outdoor Cooking Contest allows it all, as long as it is
happens outdoors: grilling, smoking, frying, baking,
steaming, braising, using whatever fuel source you want. Categories are
chicken wings, sausage, any pork except ribs, any side dish and
dessert. Teams may independently enter either or both contests. There
is a discount when entering both Sunday events.

Many thanks to all who have participated in past years. Last year alone
we had over 100 judges & volunteers, over 75 teams and
countless
thousands of attendees. We are looking forward to this year and hope to

Announcing: Empire State Barbecue
Championship

Thanks to the unprecedented cooperation among the KCBS competitions'
organizers, a trophy and cash prize of $1000 will be awarded to the
team that has the highest cumulative score from four of the seven KCBS
sanctioned contests in New York State. There will also be prizes for
second and third place. For more information, rules & links to
