About Oinktoberfest 2012

Sept 21 - 23, Clarence, NY
Oh Canada

Fish & chips, vinegar on french fries, Labatt Blue, maple leaf, mounties, hockey, eh!, the Peace Bridge, Duty Free, what do they have in common? Canada, Oh Canada. It is fitting that for the last 2 years a Canadian team has won the Grand Championship. We have always had great support from our neighbors to the North, even in our 1st year. So we thought it very appropriate to honor them by making it this year's theme.

The Great Pumpkin Farm at 11163 Main St, Clarence, NY 14031 is once again the site for this area's biggest BBQ festival. Please check out our MAP for directions.

Saturday's competition is Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned. Team entries are judged and scored according to KCBS guidelines and rules. Food categories include: chicken, pork ribs, pork butt/shoulder, beef brisket. The scores of these four categories determines the Grand Champion. Additional categories are to be determined. For a look at last year's KCBS contest results please click HERE.

Check out the pictures from 2011:  Friday, Saturday and Sunday And don't forget to check out the other galleries from previous years. The links are at the bottom of this page.

Sunday's events include both the Outdoor Cooking Contest and the Rib Oink-Off. The Outdoor Cooking Contest allows it all, as long as it is happens outdoors: grilling, smoking, frying, baking, steaming, braising, using whatever fuel source you want. Categories are chicken wings, any pork except ribs, chili, dessert and a cagtegory to be determined. The Rib Oink-Off is a stand alone contest with the bonus category of dessert. Teams may independently enter either or both contests. There is a discount when entering both Sunday events.

As always many thanks to all who have participated in past years. If you are interested in being a judge or volunteer, entering a team, becoming a vendor, please check out our FORMS page for information and applications. The forms will be updated soon for this year's contest, but the information is basically the same.
